Adrienne Teicher (she/her) is a composer, producer and a/v artist based in Berlin. Thoughtful, passionate and political, Adrienne’s fundamental concern is in creating soundscapes wherein the boundary between content and form breaks down.
Adrienne is best known for the collaboration HYENAZ with fellow composer, movement artist and producer Kathryn Fischer (aka Mad Kate). The pair have toured extensively to galleries, performances spaces, festivals and clubs across Europe, North America and Asia, including Berlin’s famed Berghain, the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Seoul, Korea and Sled Island in Calgary, Canada.
In 2019, HYENAZ lead the Cluster Fuck ensemble to join PEACHES in their Deutsche Oper Aus dem Hinterhalt presentation of Don Quichotte as well as the retrospective There’s Only One Peach With the Hole in the Middle in Kampnagel Hamburg, Royal Festival Hall, London and Musikhuset Aarhus.
That year they also premiered an intricate and unforgiving sound design for the award winning Maxim Gorki Theatre Studio Я production “Oder: Du verdienst deinen Krieg (Eight Soldiers Moonsick)”, directed by Sasha Salzmann from at text by Sivan Ben Yishai. More recently, HYENAZ have appeared on stage with Yishai for another of her works “Unser Stadt aus Vogelaugen” at the Münchner Kammerspiele and TD Berlin.
In the Summer of 2021 Adrienne will release “INSECURE”, the first EP released under her own name. At times angry, frenetic, mournful and horny, INSECURE is a paean to the fields of uncertainty woven into human existence, a state that has only intensified in recent years.
